Concert postponed STEUBENVILLE — The thunderstorms that hit the Tri-State Area Thursday afternoon forced officials at Historic Fort Steuben to postpone the concert that had been scheduled for the Berkman Amphitheater. Restless Hearts and Aristotle Jones and the Appalachian Soul Band have been rescheduled for Aug. 13, according to Paul Zuros, executive director at the fort. Crash under investigation in Hancock County

NEWELL – The Hancock County Sheriff's Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash near the Ergon refinery, Tuesday, which resulted in one individual trapped within a vehicle. Hancock County 911 received a call from Ergon just after 3 p.m. Tuesday of a two-vehicle crash with entrapment and injuries on W.Va. 2 near the refinery located south of Newell. Ergon employees and passing motorists stopped to assist before emergency responders arrived, according to a report from the Sheriff's Office. Trial date set for former Martins Ferry fire chief

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — A trial date has been set for former Martins Ferry volunteer fire chief William Rinderer. Belmont County Common Pleas Judge Chris Berhalter scheduled a jury trial for Aug. 13 at 9:30 a.m. Rinderer appeared before Berhalter on Monday morning. He was indicted last week on one count each of gross sexual imposition and pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. On Monday, Rinderer's bond remained unchanged from when he was indicted at $75,000, with certain conditions. Berhalter said Rinderer is to have no contact with the alleged victim or any minors.
