WELLSBURG - Three Ohio Valley residents are facing up to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to felony drug possession and distribution charges in Brooke County.
Alicia Nicole Wilson, 35, Wayne Franklin Yoho, 36, and Steven Anthony Michael Conway, 35, all of Marshall County, pleaded guilty Aug. 24 to one count of possession with intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, according to information released by Brooke County Prosecuting Attorney Allison Cowden.
Circuit Court Judge Jason Cuomo sentenced each to between one and 15 years with the West Virginia Division of Corrections.
On Feb. 24, West Virginia State Trooper Randy Holloway and Brooke County Deputy Sgt. Devin Baker initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by the three while conducting road patrols in Follansbee. Cowden reported the white Chevrolet had been under surveillance by the Marshall County Drug Task Force, including while in Pittsburgh.
Reports indicate Conway appeared to be intoxicated in the back seat and kept reaching inside the pocket of his hoodie. He was removed from the vehicle and searched, at which time officers located a methamphetamine pipe on his person.
An open-air sniff of the vehicle by a K-9 unit alerted for narcotics, the report notes, with 125 grams of methamphetamine located in the glove box during a search of the vehicle.
