History in the Hills: Free at last

This year we have a lot of events happening at Historic Fort Steuben, specifically because it is the 250th anniversary of our nation. At the fort for this anniversary, we have a lecture series examining historic topics that are relevant to our history. Our next lecture will be Aug. 20 with Alan Fitzpatrick, who will be discussing the American Revolution in the Ohio Country. I am really looking forward to that discussion. The last twelve months have been something unique and special. In the last number of years certain things have been shaping my life. I found out what it is to be an orphan. In South Africa where I am blessed to minister, anyone whose parents are deceased is considered an orphan. It does not matter the age of the child, if they are 5 years old, or 50 years old. If both of their parents are deceased, they are an orphan. In American culture we limit it to being an adolescent or young age of 18 years old or younger. Yes, we are to be faithful to our local church and all that entails. Thank God for the sweet and uplifting fellowship of our dear brothers and sisters. How awesome to worship together, sing praises, share testimonies and hear the Word of God proclaimed under the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
