Fellowship of Christian Students to launch at Eastern Gateway Community College

STEUBENVILLE -- The Fellowship of Christian Students is the first student ministry in the history of Eastern Gateway Community College, and it will launch on Tuesday at 8 p.m., according to Pastor Bobbyjon Bauman, president of the Ohio Valley Youth Network.

The network is launching the group that will meet at the college every Tuesday from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and be led by Liam McAfoose, Ben Miller and Trey Freeman.

"They will meet for a time of Bible study and fellowship," Bauman said of the group that will be called the Fellowship of Christian Students

"This group is being launched by the Ohio Valley Youth Network, and I was blessed to be able to dialogue with the administration and get the go-ahead for this to start and will be attending the initial meeting and as many meetings as I can once it begins," Bauman explained.

"The group is open to all post high school students up to age 30. The sponsoring organization on campus is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, but they are calling it the Fellowship of Christian Students since all students will be welcome to attend, and there are no athletic programs up and running at EGCC at this time," he added.

"I have been contemplating for more than four years about launching a student ministry at EGCC since they have never had one, and things just started to fall in place as the EGCC president (Jimmie Bruce)and Jim Baber were wildly enthusiastic about the idea. It was just a matter of getting the leaders and a sponsoring organization set up and ready to go," Bauman noted.
