GIRLS SOCCER

WEIR GETS BIG WIN AT WILLIAMSTOWN

WILLIAMSTOWN – Giana Siegel tallied a goal and an assist leading the Weir girls’ soccer team to a 2-1 victory against Willliamstown Saturday afternoon on the road.

Ryann Jeter also recorded a goal for the Red Riders (1-3-1), while Kameryn Mallas collected an assist.

Bella Weber made six saves in goal for the girls from Hancock County.

Weir is scheduled to play Catholic Central at 4 p.m. today at the Tony Recinella Soccer Field in the first game of a Catholic Central girls’ and boys’ doubleheader. The Catholic Central boys are slated to play Wheeling Central afterward at 6 p.m.

CREEK BLANKS JM

WINTERSVILLE – The Indian Creek girls soccer team blanked visiting John Marshall on Saturday, 4-0. The Redskins improved their season mark to 2-5 with the win ahead of a trip to Edison today.

BROOKE FALLS TO FAIRMONT

WELLSBURG – The Brooke boys soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Fairmont Senior on Saturday.

Goalkeeper Bronson Pack made 13 saves for the Bruins, now 1-5-2.

EDISON WINS ANOTHER

RICHMOND – The Edison volleyball team won its third-straight match on Saturday, sweeping Bridgeport in three sets to improve to their season mark to 3-3.

BIG RED WINS TWO

WEIRTON – The Big Red volleyball team won a pair of matches in a tri a Weir High on Saturday, sweeping both the host Red Riders and Beaver Local 2-0 to improve its season mark to 5-2.
