Harrison Central freshman Dunlap wins inaugural girls Buckeye 8 golf title

LISBON - The inaugural Buckeye 8 Girls Individual Golf Tournament was held Wednesday at Beaver Creek Meadows Golf Course and a golfer from a local school claimed the first title.

Nineteen girls competed in the 18-hole event on the par-71 layout, with Harrison Central freshman Reese Dunlap earning medalist honors with a low score of 83 to claim the event individual crown.

The top five finishers were recognized as All-Conference.

Barnesville senior Kennedy Little finished as runner-up with an 86, while the Beaver Local duo of McKenzie Ash and Mya Anderson of Beaver Local shot 88 and 90, respectively. Harrison Central’s Ella Smith was fifth with a 95.

Martins Ferry was led by Keigan Brandon's 99. Harrison Central’s Shayla Nameth carded a 102 to finish in the top 10.

Also from Brooke, Sophia Wilkerson fired a 104 and Gracie Shepard a 110. The Bruins’ Ava Conley and the Huskies’ Neely Ryder each shot a 117. Xraoli Duke from Brooke turned in a 131.
