Yankees and Pirates rained out, to play a day-night doubleheader today

NEW YORK (AP) -- The Yankees’ game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night was postponed because of a forecast of rain and will be made up as part of New York’s second doubleheader in a four-day span.

New York announced the postponement about five hours before the scheduled start and said it will play two games on Wednesday. The regularly scheduled game starts at 1:05 p.m. and the makeup at 7:05 p.m.

The Yankees are off Thursday, then start a series at Philadelphia. New York split a day-night doubleheader Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers after a rainout Saturday night.

Pittsburgh also is off Thursday before a home series against the Chicago Cubs.
