Oak Glen upsets Williamstown
WILLIAMSTOWN — The Oak Glen baseball team went on the road to Williamstown on Monday and upset the Yellowjackets, 5-3, in the opening round of the Class AA, Region 1 bracket.
The Golden Bears (12-21) are the sixth seed. Williamstown is the No. 3 seed. The Bears advance to battle No. 2 seed Doddridge County on the road today in the winner’s bracket of the double elimination bracket.
Oak Glen scored four runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed. Camm Dittman had a triple and three RBIs, while Sam Jenkins and Josh Maher each plated a run, Maher doubling. James Rohbeck tripled and fired the final inning for a save on the mound.
Noah Willey fired the first six innings, striking out nine and walking six.

Huskies move on
CADIZ — The Harrison Central softball team topped Carrollton on Monday, 6-2, in the Division IV, East 2 District semifinals to earn a trip to the district final.
The Huskies (17-10), the No. 4 seed, will battle No. 5 seed West Holmes on Wednesday in Strasburg for the district title and a trip to regionals.
Mikayla Pelegreen drove in a run and struck out 14 batters in a complete game in the circle.
Lillian Thomas had three hits, including a double, Kara Blackburn tripled and drove in a run, Bailey Smith and Emma Jarvis each also had an RBI.
Panthers fall to Tusky Valley
ZANESVILLE — The Buckeye Local softball team’s run ended on Monday with a 10-0 loss at top seed Tusky Valley in the Division V, East District semifinals.
The Panthers finish the season 14-10.
Karlie Lander struck out five for the Panthers.
