Six locals make All-Ohio lists in first boys release

COLUMBUS — The first round of boys basketball All-Ohio teams were announced on Wednesday, and six local players from four schools were recognized across Divisions IV, V, VI and VII.
The All-Ohio teams are based on nominations from the seven districts of the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association based on regular season accomplishments.
The girls basketball All-Ohio teams were announced on Monday and Tuesday. The boys All-Ohio teams for Divisions I, II and III will be announced today.
Locally, the top honoree in the first release was Catholic Central junior Rahim Mitchell, who was named second team All-Ohio in Division VII. He led Central with an average of 19.5 points per game this season.
In Division IV, Indian Creek senior and Robert Morris football signee Nishon White was a special mention selection after averaging 18.9 points and 14 rebounds per game this season.
In Division V, Harrison Central’s Bryson Kamarec was a special mention after averaging 18 points this past season.
In Division VI, a trio of players were recognized from Toronto’s OVAC championship team.
Senior Austin Buchanan was a special mention after averaging 17.8 points. Fellow senior Landon Grimes (10.6 points) and junior Colt Joynson (12.9 points) were honorable mention selections.
