Franciscan men fall at Washington & Jefferson
WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Franciscan University of Steubenville’s men’s basketball team’s second half rally came up short on the road at Washington and Jefferson Wednesday evening as the Barons fell 81-77.
FUS was behind by 11 at halftime but rallied back to tie the game in the second half before suffering the four-point defeat.
The Barons (15-5, 7-4 PAC) were led by Sawyer Butler, who ranks in the top-10 in NCAA Division III in scoring, with 26 points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal. Zach Oliver had 14 points, five rebounds and five assists.
FUS is back at home Saturday to host Geneva at 3 p.m.
FUS women fall to W&J
WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Fransican women dropped a 76-47 decision at Washington and Jefferson on Wednesday.
The Lady Barons (3-17, 2-7 PAC) were led by Madonna grad Jazzy Melnyk with 14 points and eight rebounds.
The Barons host Geneva on Saturday at 1 p.m.
