Edison’s Henderson duo headed to Muskingum
Edison seniors, standout athletes and siblings JD and Sophia Henderson are taking their talents to Muskingum University together. The Hendersons singed their letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at Muskingum earlier this month. JD, a multi-sport athlete for Edison, will play baseball for the Muskies, while Sophia, also a multi-sport standout for the Wildcats, will play for Muskingum’s women’s basketball program. JD is a four-year starter for the Wildcats on the diamond at catcher, with a career average of .363 and is a multi-time All-East District and All-OVAC selection. Sophia is in the midst of a historic career on the hardwood at Edison, currently sitting third in program history in career points and as the all-time program leader in rebounds and steals with more than half of her senioe season to go. She is a two-time first team All-OVAC pick and three-time All-East District pick, inlcuding first team last year, and was the District 5 Player of the Year last season averaging 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4.5 steals. She’s also a two-time All-Ohioan.
