Big Red’s McShan headed to Clarion
Big Red senior Nylah McShan officially signed her letter of intent to continue her academic and basketball careers at Clarion University on Tuesday morning. McShan, a four-year starter for Big Red, is the reigning Division III East District Co-Player of the Year and was a second team All-Ohio selection after she averaged 20.3 points per game, 9.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 3.1 steals and 1.1 blocks last season and is already off to a strong start this year. Joining Nylah, seated, second from right, for the occasion inside the Crimson Commons were, from left, Aureah Bowling, Weslynn Bowling, her mother Shayla Bowling and Stephen McShan; and back, from left, coach Josh Meyer, Big Red head girls basketball coach Angie Forte and coach Matt Davis. McShan said she chose the Golden Eagles, a Division II program, because she liked the family atmosphere. – Andrew Grimm
