Golden Bears bounce back to top St. C

NEW MANCHESTER — The Oak Glen volleyball team did not take long to put a disappointing OVAC semifinal loss behind it.

The Golden Bears bounced back on Thursday evening, topping St. Clairsville in the Class 4A third-place consolation match on their home court in four sets, winning by scores of 25-21, 25-15, 27-29, 25-17.

The victory gives Oak Glen a third place finish and improves the Bears’ record to 19-8-3 on the season.

Averi Martin tallied 17 kills, while Brooklyn Six recorded 16 kills, Brayley Lash had 12 kills, Haylee Stewart finished with nine kills, Mikalyn Balch tallied 45 assists and three kills, Bryson Adams finished with 17 assists and an ace and Kiera Vick had 22 digs.

Big Red falls in consolation game

MORGANTOWN — The Big Red volleyball team’s second trip to Morgantown this week ended in another defeat.

After falling to top seed Morgantown in the OVAC Class 5A semifinals on Tuesday night, Big Red fell at University in the third place consolation match on the road on Thursday evening, 25-19, 25-20, 25-22.
