Big Red golf wins a quad

NEW CUMBERLAND — The Big Red golf team rolled to three more victories on Thursday.

Steubenville, which has now rattled off 11-straight victories since an opening day defeat, posted a 163 to top Weir High (171), Brooke (183) and Oak Glen (190) in a quad match at Woodview.

Christopher Elliott continued his strong campaign with a three under par 33 to earn match medalist.

Also for Big Red, Andrew Matzorkis fired a 41, Noah Kokiko a 43 and Jaggar Rawson a 46. Cooper Crowe (47) and Max Henderson (50) competed in their first varsity matches for Big Red.

For the Red Riders, Evan Kaczmarek, Isaiah Smith and Evan Baker each shot a 41, while Guy Meneely carded a 46.

Brooke got a 44 from Carter Neilson, a 45 from Colton Yenson, a 46 from Parker McMahon and a 48 from Dustin Engle.

The Golden Bears were led by a 42 from Zach Jenkins, a 45 from Maddox Chaffin, a 48 from Gannon Cline and a 54 from Jack Cline.

Edison volleyball falls

RICHMOND — The Edison volleyball team fell in straight sets to Beaver Local on Thursday evening.

Sophia Henderson led the Wildcats with 13 assists and four digs, while Aliya Glover had six kills and four points.

Edison is at Cambridge on Saturday.
