WEIRTON -- In a key Class A match up at Jimmy Carey Stadium Friday night, visiting Cameron was able to find its groove and hand Madonna its second loss of the season, 66-16.
The Dragons, now 5-1, turned a six-point lead in the second quarter into a 36-0 advantage at halftime with a late outburst and never looked back in a meeting of teams that both entered the week in playoff positions.
For the Blue Dons, now 4-2, Maddox Bowen fired a couple of long scoring tosses to KJ Ward in the second half, going for 56 and 73 yards.
Bowen finished with 156 yards in going 6 of 11 with the two scores and a pick. Ward tallied 130 receiving yards on three catches and Andre Crossland also made three catches for 26 yards.
Ward and Matthew Geer each made eight tackles on defense for Madonna.
The loss dropped the Blue Dons to No.12 in Class A, while the Dragons jumped from 15th to 10th.
Madonna will look to bounce back next week when it travels to Beallsville.
