PARKERSBURG -- The WVSSAC has announced the host sites for the upcoming state wrestling and softball championships.

Huntington has been selected as the host city for the state wrestling championship for 2025-28. This extends Huntington's legacy as the host city, marking 42 consecutive years by the conclusion of the 2028 championship.

In addition, South Charleston will serve as the host site for the state softball championship for 2025-28. Little Creek Park has hosted the event for the last four years.

The WVSSAC Board of Directors made the decision following a competitive bidding process in which several cities presented strong cases to host the championships.

"The WVSSAC is thrilled to continue our partnership with Huntington and South Charleston for these championships," said David Price, WVSSAC Executive Director. "Both venues offer excellent facilities and environments that will create memorable experiences for everyone involved in these championships.

"We are grateful for the interest in other cities in hosting these championships and are appreciative of the great time and effort demonstrated in the bid process," Price said.

The 2025 wrestling championship will be March 6-8, at Mountain Health Arena, and the 2025 softball championship will be May 28-31, at Little Creek Park.
