WHEELING -- The Ohio Valley Athletic Conference is expanding again, a release from the organization posted on social media Wednesday announced.
According to the announcement, at Wednesday's athletic director's meeting the OVAC member schools voted to accept the application to the conference from six schools.
They are Columbiana, East Palestine, Leetonia, Lisbon David Anderson, United and Valley Christian.
All six schools are present members of the East Ohio Athletic Conference and will now hold a dual conference membership with the OVAC and EOAC.
The remaining two EOAC schools, Southern and Wellsville, are already members of the OVAC.
These six schools, along with Heartland Christian that joined in April, brings the total to seven schools joining the nation's largest high school athletic conference of its kind this year alone.
The OVAC, celebrating its 81st year of existence, will now have 58 member schools in Ohio and West Virginia.
