Catholic Central volleyball tops the Wildcats in four sets
STEUBENVILLE -- The Catholic Central volleyball team won the first two sets and then closed things out in the fourth for a win at home over visiting Edison on Monday.
The Crusaders won the match by scores of 25-15, 26-24, 20-15, 25-17.
For Central, Anna Arai had four kills, eight blocks, an ace and 15 points, Natalie Cherepko recorded five kills, five blocks, 13 points and an ace, Talia Marcino recorded two aces, three kills, a block and 12 points, Avan Marcino tallied an ace, four kills, five blocks and 15 points and Lilly Balzano finished with an ace, two kills, four blocks, 13 assists and 27 points.
For Edison, Rebecka Evans had 24 assists, nine kills, four aces and a dig, Kendra Teichman tallied 19 digs, five points, an ace and an assist, Hailey Teichmen finished with 13 assists, eight digs, three points and two kills, Alli Shrieve recorded 12 kills, six digs and an assist and Ava Cline tallied eight kills, four points, two blocks and an ace.
Toronto now 15-0
EAST PALESTINE -- The Toronto volleyball team won its 15th-straight match to start the season on Monday, sweeping East Palestine on the road by scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-14.
For the Red Knights, Andrea Reeves recorded 34 assists, 14 digs, four kills and three blocks, Hannah Dobbs tallied 18 kills, 10 digs, two blocks and an ace, Jayna Reeves recorded eight kills, three digs and two blocks, Michelle Anderson racked up 28 digs and two assists, Ashton Thomas tallied seven blocks, three kills, four digs and an ace, Callie Anderson had four kills and three digs and Tatum Derrington finished with four kills.
The Knights host Conotton Valley on Wednesday.
Creek sweeps St. Clairsville
ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- The Indian Creek volleyball team swept St. Clairsville on Monday by scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-23, to improve to 9-5 on the season.
Kylie Anderson had five kills, a block, two aces and 13 digs, Reese Scott racked up 30 assists, four aces, 14 digs, three kills and two blocks, Tori Robertson had 14 kills, eight digs, two aces and a block, Camryn Ketron tallied 12 kills and 18 digs, Katie Cottis had three kills and a block and Cara Vandeborne finished with three kills and four blocks.
