WEIRTON -- Basil's Sports Bar and Grill awarded Oak Glen's Sophia Arner and Steubenville's Cole Antill with its annual 2022 Scholarships.
Arner, who recently graduated from Oak Glen, plans to attend West Virginia University in the fall.
She participated in track, basketball and cross country for the Golden Bears while maintaining a 4.1 grade point average.
Her four years at Oak Glen were filled with athletic and academic success.
She was awarded this year's scholarship besting 16 other female applicants.
Cole Antill recently graduated from Steubenville High School.
Antill was a member of Big Red's wrestling, golf and tennis teams while attending
He finished with a 4.54 GPA.
His success in high school athletics is mirrored by his academic success.
He was selected for this year's scholarship besting 17 other male applicants.
Both individuals were awarded $1,000 each.
Basil's plans to continue to offer its annual scholarship as a positive way to give back to the Upper Ohio Valley Community.
