Madonna gets big win over Cameron, 8-2

WEIRTON -- The Madonna baseball team got perhaps its biggest win of the young season Wednesday, topping state-ranked Cameron, 8-2, at Edwin J. Bowman Field.

Senior pitcher Matt Amaismeier tossed a complete game, striking out nine and allowing two unearned runs on just two hits without issuing a walk.

He also had a good game at the plate, driving in a pair of runs to help his own cause.

Luke Amaismeier also plated a pair of runs, as did Kolton Grishkevich.

The Blue Dons, now 5-6 on the season, are scheduled to compete in a doubleheader Saturday at Hebron Lakewood.
