Madonna’s game with Cameron re-scheduled for Tuesday

WEIRTON — While football teams across the area were taking the field on Friday night, Madonna finalized an agreement to get its previously postponed game in.

Friday evening, the Blue Dons athletic department announced its game with Cameron will be played at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jimmy Carey Stadium.

The game was originally set to take place Saturday, but due to COVID issues, Madonna was forced to cancel on Monday.

Coach Dan Rovira said at the time that the team would be discussing making the game with the Dragons up, and those plans panned out.

The game will have a lot of playoff implication in Class A as Madonna is 4-0 and ranked fourth and Cameron 3-0 and sitting third.

Weir High has a soccer match prior to the game, so Madonna is asking fans to be patient when entering the parking lot as the soccer traffic exits. Both schools, Madonna Athletic Director Mike Arlia said, will be working together to coordinate traffic.
