Baron Club ceremony set
STEUBENVILLE -- Franciscan University of Steubenville 53rd annual Baron Club Awards will be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Finnegan Fieldhouse.
The ceremony will honor the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team that won a gold medal. A fundraiser for Franciscan's Division III athletic teams, the event will feature three members from the "Miracle on Ice" team, along with Phil Bourque, a two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins. ESPN broadcaster and former Steubenville native John Buccigross will serve as master of ceremonies for the sixth time.
Dinner reservations are $65 each or $100 that includes dinner and Baron Club membership. Sponsorship opportunities range from $500-$10,000 and include the opportunity for autographed hockey pucks and a photo with the speakers and Buccigross. McKayla Dunkle led the Huskies with 22 kills and 12 blocks. Lexi Ferguson had 34 assists, Maddy Butler 20 digs and Becca Banks seven kills.
