For the last 126 years, the betterment of the Steubenville community and its residents has been the focus of the Woman’s Club of Steubenville. However, after many months of consideration and deliberation, the remaining members have announced the dissolution of the organization. Let me share a little personal immigration history with you. From 1960 to 1962, I believe, I was the only foreign student at Steubenville High School. In June of 1962, at 19, I was drafted into the Austrian military, but my mother in Austria, was able to push out my induction date until after my graduation from Big Red. History in the Hills: Historic objects

Here at Historic Fort Steuben, our museum collections are important. The historical stuff we have really makes the museum special and it can make the past feel alive to our visitors. To me, the fort itself is an artifact, even though it is a reconstruction. These buildings invite us to appreciate what life was like for the First American Regiment and the team of surveyors working to map the Northwest Territory while they were here in the winter of 1786 and 1787.
