To the editor:
"Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it" Winston Churchill. There are several variations of the above, but they all warn us to not forget the disasters of the past. I write about the Biden administration based on that statement, not because I am deranged. Let's compare Biden's administration with the current Trump administration.
According to my math, Biden was in office for 1461 days. During that time we witnessed the following: the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal which led to the deaths of 13 service personnel, Americans and allies and billions of dollars of equipment left behind; millions of unvetted aliens (including criminals and gang members) illegally entered and released into our country; passage of the 1.2 Trillion dollar Infrastructure Bill resulting in 8 EV charging stations and what else; Transportation Secretary Buttigieg took paternity leave during the supply chain crisis and ignored the problems with the airlines and air traffic control; Border Czar Harris talked about Venn diagrams and yellow school buses, but not the border or migrants; Title IX changed to allow biological males to participate in female sports; abortion on demand; and sex change hormones and surgeries on minors without restrictions. These are just a few of the disasters that are attributed to mentally incompetent Biden, who should never have been the president.
When this letter is published, Trump will be in office for 126 days. Let's look at his accomplishments for "we the people". DOGE has uncovered and is working to eliminate government waste, fraud, and abuse. The border is closed and people who are here illegally are removed from our country--people who ignored deportation orders or have committed crimes are being deported to their countries of origin or incarcerated and others illegally here are being given incentives to self-deport. Trump signed an Executive Order to keep biological males from participating in female sports. Transportation Secretary Duffy has identified problems in air travel and air traffic control and is working to correct those problems. The "Real ID" is finally implemented to ensure the identity of domestic air passengers. The Supreme Court has upheld Trump's Executive Order to remove all transpeople from the military. Trump's tariffs are leading to better trade deals with other countries. Prices are starting to come down, inflation is decreasing, and the stock market is adjusting. Businesses are planning to invest here. These are some of the ways that the Trump administration is improving our lives.
What have the Democrats done for us since Trump took office? Senator Shumer bragged that the Democrats appointed 230 progressive judges to "stop Trump". There are multiple judges who have delayed Trump's Executive Orders. Democrats have led protests, including attempting to illegally enter an ICE facility in New Jersey. Congressional Democrats went to El Salvador to bring a deported illegal alien gang member back to the US when the President of El Salvador said he is staying in El Salvador.
