To the editor:
For the past ten years, you – the people of Steubenville – have been in my heart and on my mind as I campaigned and then served on City Council. I prayed for you at every doorstep. I did not see you as divided into different groups but as one people worthy of my wholehearted service. I have never viewed these political positions as ones of power to wield over others but as opportunities for leadership in service.
I had hoped to serve you as mayor. And though that's not the case, know that I will continue to hold you in my heart and in my prayers. I believe the future is bright for Steubenville as long as we stay close to each other and to the Lord.
