To the editor:
As a local businessman who has invested both time and resources into the community, I am deeply disappointed in the lack of action and accountability from the elected council of the village of Mingo Junction. Local government is supposed to serve as a voice for the people, ensuring the community's well-being and fostering an environment where businesses can thrive. Unfortunately, what I've witnessed is far from this.
Despite repeated concerns raised by residents, crucial issues such as infrastructure improvements, public safety and community development have been neglected. These are not minor concerns, but the foundation of a strong and prosperous community. Businesses cannot grow if roads are in disrepair, public services are underfunded and the town is stagnant.
The disconnect between the Village Council's priorities and the community's needs is unacceptable.
As a businessman, I understand the importance of delivering results and being accountable to those who depend on you. It's time council did the same. The community deserves better, and I urge them to start listening to the people they elected to serve.
P.S.: After conversing with several people at the Ville, they said I should be sending this to every government entity in the county.
