Disturbing rhetoric

To the editor:

Former President Donald J. Trump recently promoted another most concerning version of his totally baseless, and most troubling, allegations that, reportedly, as a result of unsealed FBI documents that FBI agents who were assigned to search Trump's Mar-A-Lago estate in Florida in 2022 had allegedly been instructed to use deadly force against the former president, as well as those who might have attempted to impede their recovery of classified documents that Trump had inappropriately removed from the White House and had kept in his possession, and that he had somehow personally nearly escaped death, as he alleged that the FBI was under orders from President Joe Biden to kill Trump, which, sadly, has been repeated seemingly ad infinitum by Trump, and also his MAGA sycophants in the media, as well as many in Congress.

In actuality, the aforementioned is quite obviously but another Trump-promoted version of a "big lie," as those FBI agents who were assigned to conduct the classified document search at Mar-A-Lago were, in reality, instructed to use deadly force only in their defense, which would be employed if they felt physically threatened themselves, fearing their very lives were in danger, which is typical verbiage regarding such situations.

Also, this raid was actually utilized as a last resort by the FBI, as former President Trump had refused to cooperate and illegally declined to surrender the numerous classified documents that he had surreptitiously taken from the White House to the proper government entity, in this case, the FBI.

For the record, the exact same verbiage also was used by the FBI, which is typical in all such cases, to search President Joe Biden's home in Delaware for similar such documents, but no such offensive comments were launched by Biden and all of his cohorts in response to such action being taken against him.

Also, in sharp contrast to the response by former President Trump, President Biden fully cooperated with the FBI regarding this matter of serious concern.

This, sadly, was yet but another attempt for Trump to circumvent the rule of law, very similar to his promotion of the "big lie" which inspired many of his supported to violently attack the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021, in an attempt to overthrow a completely fair election in order to illegally keep Trump in power.

A great many of Trump's comments are disturbingly quite un-American and unpatriotic as he continues to promote lies over proven facts, referring to those who may oppose him politically as crooked and villains, showing total lack of respect for our democratic institutions, which is completely ego-driven, is most troubling, indeed, to our citizens and our allies, while it is enthusiastically supported by our longtime adversaries.
