To the editor:
For those who haven't had the opportunity to meet Michael Kripchak yet, I'd like to share my thoughts on why he'd make an excellent U.S. Congressman for the 6th District.
Kripchak was born and raised in Youngstown. He enrolled in the Air Force Academy right out of high school, where he graduated cum laude with a physics degree. He served an additional three years in the Air Force after graduation.
He also graduated from New York University with a master's degree in interactive telecommunications.
What makes him so impressive to so many of us who have met him personally is his understanding of the important issues our district faces. He has a robust platform to address the issue of good-paying jobs, reforming the educational system to provide our youth with a quality education and has the genuine desire to address issues so many of our farmers deal with year in and year out.
He's committed to securing Social Security and Medicare for those who have already paid into the system and who deserve their future retirement benefits to be available to them when they need it most. He's pro-union and believes union membership is the key to economic security for the middle class. He believes in legal immigration and secure borders.
His time in the military means he understands how government works and he'll put that knowledge to good use for the benefit of all the citizens in our district.
