To the editor:
Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution states that the president "shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union." The State of the Union address is usually given early in the year and televised. Will Biden be able to deliver this address considering his physical and cognitive decline? Here is the actual state of our union.
Our Southern border is wide open and 9 million illegal migrants have come into our country since Biden took office from countries all over the world. They are not properly vetted or checked for infectious diseases. Initially they were left in the southern states, where they overran and destroyed towns and rural areas. Then the governors of those states began transporting the illegal migrants to sanctuary cities. This has led to states filing suits against each other. There was no preparation for these illegals, so the taxpayer's money is being used to house and feed them.
In New York, school students were displaced for a day to enable illegals to use their school building for shelter. The mayor of New York has cut many necessary services such as police and fire services to pay for services for illegals. In Chicago, the residents asked to vote to rescind their sanctuary city status and they were denied that opportunity. Now some of these states are giving illegals driver's licenses. Did they take written and driving skills tests? They are given green cards to work. What are their job skills? Can they read and understand English? What jobs can they actually do?
Biden continues to push the green new deal and re-entered the Paris Climate Accord. Did you hear about the EVs that would not charge and the ones that stalled during the cold weather? California is banning gasoline-powered lawn equipment. New York state is banning gas stoves and mandating EV school buses. In rural upper New York, one charge will not be sufficient to take school students for extracurricular activities and back to their school.
WHO's president has declared that we must decrease our intake of meat and eat a plant-based diet. Plants do not contain complete protein, which means that we will not be taking in enough protein. Biden's acceptance of the Paris Climate Accord has serious negative effects on our health, well-being and freedoms.
Biden claimed to have vast knowledge of foreign relations. The poorly-executed withdrawal from Afghanistan showed Biden's weakness to the world, leading to the crises we have now. Since he took office there are wars in Ukraine and Israel. Billions of our tax dollars have funded the two-year Ukraine war. He took away sanctions from Iran and traded prisoners with Iran but included millions of dollars. Now that money is funding Hamas who invaded Israel, the Houthis who are capturing boats on the Red Sea leading to changes in shipping and increased costs for products, and Hezbollah that is attacking Israel from the north.
This is the real state of our union.
