To the editor:
How is it that the Republican members of the United States House of Representatives feel somehow justified for their unanimous vote to institute a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden without issuing specific charges as to the justification of the rationale as to why such an obviously entirely politically motivated spectacle will soon be taking place?
It is true that Biden's son, Hunter Biden, is currently facing serious legal challenges, as federal prosecutors have recently indicted him on nine counts of tax evasion, and also is facing additional issues of serious concern. However, following more than a year of investigations, the House GOP reportedly has failed to uncover any evidence, whatsoever, of any wrongdoing by President Biden regarding such, or any other, matters.
It is quite obvious as to the unquestionable priorities of the Republican-controlled House, that has accomplished literally nothing to help resolve the myriad of serious issues facing the American people, which has placed its overall performance at an historically low level, as they continue to prioritize politics over attempting to resolve the concerns facing their constituents.
In addition, former federal prosecutor and New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani has been ordered to pay two former Atlanta poll workers $148 million in damages for his defamatory and totally false claim that the aforementioned had somehow miscounted ballots to deprive Donald J. Trump from victory in the 2020 presidential election.
In addition, in spite of his conviction, the former America's Mayor, in Trumpian fashion, continues to defy logic and fact by continuing to state, with all existing proof to the contrary, that the aforementioned election was rigged against Trump.
It is, sadly, quite obvious, that Giuliani has essentially sold his soul to Trump and the MAGA world.
In closing, please recount Trump's predictions upon his, reluctantly, leaving office that America's economy and the stock market would completely collapse under Biden, when in fact under Biden our economy has added an historically high number (more than 14 million) of new jobs during his first three years in office, the unemployment rate stands as a 60-year low and the stock market has recorded the highest numbers in its history, significantly dwarfng all economic indicators achieved during the Trump years.
Our great nation currently faces numerous serious challenges, and it is hoped that governmental officials on the national level will finally prioritize what is best for the country over politics. Unfortunately, such is obviously quite unlikely.
