To the editor:
On Oct. 7 at Harding Stadium, the Edison girls, Harrison boys, Steubenville Catholic Central boys and girls, Indian Creek boys and girls and Steubenville Big Red boys and girls soccer teams gathered for a soccer tournament to benefit the Cancer Dietary Initiative.
CDI is a local organization established 10 years ago with the primary purpose of providing nutritional support to local cancer patients and their immediate families while they are undergoing the hardships of cancer treatment.
Not only do these soccer teams come together for a competitive tournament, they also work hard at getting donations to ensure the tournament is successful. Area businesses and community members also were instrumental in the success of this tournament with their continued generosity.
Gloria Llewellyn and her committee members were crucial to the organization of the event this year and spent many hours organizing a successful tournament that has been played for 11 years. Thank you to everyone involved.
