To the editor:
The Nov. 7 election had a positive result for the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School.
The half-mill levy passed, and we appreciate the support for the programs that we provide to the students. The outstanding teachers, staff, board members, community members and administration say thank you on behalf of the many thousands of students who have been served by the training at the JVS. As the Career Technical Planning District, the JVS serves the career technical students in the local districts.
We appreciate that the students choose to come to the JVS. The many opportunities that students have to be trained on high-quality equipment is a tribute to you, the voters. It is our mission to provide students training so they may go to work or to continue on to a college career pathway.
It is your renewal of the levy that permits us to carry on with this high-level training.
Again, thank you to all who serve the JVS, hire the students into the workforce and those who provide this high-quality education. Thank you.
Todd Phillipson
Superintendent
Jefferson County JVS
