To the editor:
"Woe to those who enact unjust statutes and write oppressive decrees." (Isaiah 10:1) What is a greater injustice than to attempt to make killing helpless innocents a constitutional law? Truthfully, "Slaughter of infants not yet born is the most grievous crime of all." (St. Maria Faustina Kowalska)
The godless left's devaluation of the sacred dignity of human life is not all the culture of death desires. Issue 1 also removes parental consent and even parental notification. It opens the door to transgender propaganda in the school classroom and eliminates the need for medical personnel to be present at an abortion.
It is written in such a way that any attempt to help a mother in distress, including sidewalk counseling and practices such as this letter are considered crimes. It leaves medical personnel and elected officials no choice but to support the reprehensible practice. This also reveals an intrinsic hostility to the faithful religious and puts the power of state government in opposition to their deeply held beliefs.
In reality, the claim that this issue supports freedom is an outright lie. A yes vote on Issue 1 is a surrender to the tyranny of militant secularists, an enslavement to a demonic ideology. This proposal is a diabolical denial of the significance of every life in the sight of God. For, "He does not desire human sacrifice, for he has created man for living." (Pope Benedict XVI: "The Eucharist, Heart of the Church.")
Before mindless support of Issue 1, may every voter ask themselves where they wish their immortal soul to abide for all eternity.
