Albaugh has earned support

2 min read

To the editor:

I have lived in Steubenville for most of my life in the First Ward. Two of my children still live here, too. In my time here, I have seen few men who are as active in the community as David Albaugh.

He has dedicated his life to improving Steubenville and the First Ward, and it usually comes at his own expense. He does things like mows lawns for the elderly, cuts down trees that are blocking the way up to Lincoln Heights, walks and cleans the hill, cuts city lots and helps keep Beatty Park maintained and manicured.

With a group, he repaired a historical bridge in Beatty Park that had been vandalized and was set to be demolished by the city.

Since then it has been vandalized again, but the parks and recreation board -- which he is part of -- is working to fix it. They even found a grant to restore it.

When he does all of these things, he does not ask for anything, not even thanks. If you live in the First Ward, you need to support David Albaugh. The ward has many condemned homes that need to be demolished, and I'm sure he is the man to see this through.
