To the editor:
Are we going to let the government get away with running our lives? Inflation is bad enough -- now they want to take away our livelihood. They want to do away with cars using gasoline and oil as well as banning things that use natural gas, gasoline or oil, such as gas stoves, furnaces, water tanks, lawnmowers and other items.
The first thing they want is to have people buying electric cars with large batteries to run them. The batteries are not safe and are known to blow up or catch fire. When you replace a battery, it will cost you several thousand dollars.
Can you picture an all-electric airplane in a lightning storm or a cruise ship with a ton of batteries? If one catches fire or there is a short-circuit, it would make a terrible blast. A large percentage of citizens couldn't buy one even if they do away with gasoline-powered vehicles and go electric. Even electric cars need to have oil and grease for parts that need them.
Think seriously about how you vote the next time, and, for the citizens who don't vote, they should form a committee to discuss this matter. Then, maybe, it will help to do away with this dangerous idea of banning oil and gas.
This inflation hurts a lot of people, let alone buying electric cars and other electric products. Becoming an all-electric country is not going to make it green. There is going to be so much electricty that it is going to cause a lot of damage to the grids and turbines, and then what will America do when winter hits? We have homes that use natural gas and oil to heat.
So, don't let the government turn America into a socialist country, and let's not let them run our lives.
