To the editor:
Each new poll regarding a 2024 race between Trump and Biden projects a Trump win. The GOP therefore has reason to rejoice.
Biden's popularity is near an all-time low. Trump appears to be on a comeback trail despite multiple complaints and lawsuits cast against him by his raucous opponents. But Trump has never relented his stance nor has he ever placated his opponents. In all instances he's emerged victorious. If anyone can be dubbed as a tough man, that man is Trump.
A true warrior, he never apologizes to charges cast against him by his enemies. Did you see him raise his hand as all his rivals did when asked if he'd support the ultimate candidate during a 2016 GOP primary telecast?
No. He stood his ground unlike his eager-to-please rivals, not in the least giving the appearance of "I'm a nice guy, and will support the nominee whomever it is."
Increasingly, old Joe Biden appears as one not quite in control of his mental faculties. He's becoming more forgetful and quite often gives the wrong answers to questions. This is quite apparent in his facial expressions as he fumbles for an answer.
In normal times the presidential race between these two rivals would not be in question. But these are not normal times. Voting provisions have changed and have been drastically altered in favor of the Democrats.
One day voting is out the window. The paper ballot is gone in many if not most states. A number of states permit early voting. Solicitation for votes on a door-to-door basis, vote drop-offs and mail-in voting has been legalized, and of which alterations, only Democrats, for the most part, have taken advantage.
How about The GOP doing the same as Trump has intimated? Shouldn't this level the playing field?
I hardly think so. Those solicited voters would probably not vote in the first place. But who do you think they would vote for if thus importuned? Only those who promise the most freebies of course. There is no such bountiful harvest available for the GOP.
Yet conservative news commentators and "Gopies" at large remain optimistic that victory is in store for them in 2024. They appear to remain totally oblivious to ramifications of a corrupted voting system and complacently anticipate a GOP victory.
Do they not comprehend that tables have been turned against them? Are their heads buried in the sand?
Unless sensible voting is restored, mob rule will prevail.
