We’re being lied to

To the editor:

When Barack Obama was running for President, he said he would bankrupt coal. At that time coal accounted for 49 percent of America's energy. During his first term (2009-2013) along with the closings of existing coal-fired plants, he also had moratoriums on deep water drilling and officially rejected the Keystone XL pipeline.

In the early months of his presidency, he began his Green Energy program and continued it through his second term (2014-2017.) The result of Obama's Green Energy agenda "… none you have backed have succeeded, your record is 0 for 300, rather 0 for $6 trillion in taxpayer debt." (dividedstates.com: List of failed Obama green energy solar companies. July 15, 2015.)

Joe Biden knew that green energy was a failure, but continues to push this on the American citizens using executive orders. He is not alone in this lie perpetrated on our country, it also is being done by career representatives that are complicit in their bills that are introduced and hidden in bills that are not read.

Former U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan represented Ohio, a state rich in natural resources-coal, limestone, oil and timber. He introduced a bill on July 1, 2021, H.R. 4346, the Supreme Court Funding Act of 2022. His name is the only one on the bill -- there are no co-sponsors. It became public law on Aug. 9. The bill when signed was the Chips and Science Act. A green energy bill at an estimated cost of $79 billion. How is it possible that a bill introduced one way can go into a completely different direction?

Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., represents a state rich in salt deposits (manufacturing of chemicals), apple growing and coal mines. He made headlines fighting Biden on the Build Back Better bill. After numerous talks with Biden, his "yes" vote got the bill passed. The renamed bill, the Inflation Reduction Act, was signed into law. This bill will cost an estimated $739 billion, $369 billion going to energy security and climate change, the largest green energy bill to date. This bill is an outright lie and when talking about how it reduces inflation, they continue to lie.

We have a coal-fired plant that is set to close July 15, the Sammis Plant in Stratton. Someone needs to step up and stop this from happening. Our country has lost too many power plants already. Gas and oil are stopped by government regulations. The Cardinal Plant in Brilliant is set to close in December 2030. Go to the Wikipedia website and type in: List of coal-fired power plants stations in the United States. See what our government officials have and are doing to these power companies.

We are constantly being lied to, and we cannot trust our treasonous representatives.
