To the editor:
This letter is to address the actions of certain members of Steubenville City Council during a night that was supposed to honor our local American heroes.
I was unable to attend that meeting, but I read what happened. I'm embarrassed for our city. Council should pass a resolution that all members of council and city leaders must stand and face the flag. If these members want to be disrespectful on their own time, let them. This disgusting show of disrespect for the men who were asked to come to be honored should never have happened.
This display by these council members was their personal protest not the view of the people they represent. Thank you to all the veterans for your sacrifice and your service. You all deserve our respect and gratitude. God bless you all.
