To the editor:
The second-annual Dusty Eller Memorial Poker Run was held Aug. 1.
I first want to thank the following friends of Dusty who organized the event: Mark Battistel, Erin Kain, Matt Lumpkin, Amber Kanoskie and Gene Wells. You all did an amazing job. And those who volunteered: Eric and Christen Tustin, Mandy Coldabella, Missy Gilham, Sabrina Isaac and Suze Travis. Thank you for giving your time for the event.
Thank you to the people and businesses who donated items for the auction.
Thanks to the Wintersville and Steubenville police departments for the escorts for the bikers, and to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, which provided security.
To the stops that hosted the bikers: 427 Kustoms; LaPizza; Rutt's Cross Creek Tavern, which also fed the bikers; the Hopedale Legion Post; the Wintersville Legion Post, where the event ended, thank you. Also, thanks to Erin Kain for preparing all of the food at the Wintersville Legion.
Annie, Lizzie, Lucas, Aria and Nina -- you all did a great job of helping out. Uncle Dusty loved all of you.
I am most grateful to all of Dusty's motorcycle brothers and sisters who rode in his memory. You can be sure he was riding right along with you through the sky with that big smile on his face. You all warmed my heart.
Last, thank you to my family members who attended different parts of the run -- it meant a great deal to me that you were there.
All proceeds have been donated to the A.L.I.V.E. Shelter.
