Thanks for help with poker run
To the editor:
On June 20, the first Memorial Poker Run was held for my late son, Dusty Eller.
The turnout was amazing. I want to thank everyone who made this event the success that it was. First and foremost, Mark Battistel and Erin Kain, who organized the event from start to finish. They put so much time and energy into the event, and I am so grateful to them.
Thanks also to Tom Fitzgerald, who donated his time and used his drone and camera to capture the whole event — he did a wonderful job — and attorney Steven Stickles, a candidate for Harrison County prosecutor, who donated all of the food — thank you so much.
Also, thanks to 427 Kustoms, which allowed all of the bikes to sign up there; Rutt’s Cross Creek Tavern; LaPizza and Pub; JP’s Saloon; Hopedale American Legion Post 652 and the Motorcyclists Memorial in Hopedale. I greatly appreciate each and every one of you.
To all of Dusty’s friends who worked getting donations, did the cooking, served the food and helped in any way, I thank you all.
Most important, to all of Dusty’s brothers and sisters who rode their motorcycles, it was a beautiful sight. You all showed up to honor your brother, and I can’t thank you enough. As the thunder roared from your bikes, I’m sure Dusty was riding with you.
All proceeds from the event are being donated to the American Heart Association for research on children who have been born with congenital heart disease, as Dusty was.
With much gratitude and love, Mikey Eller, Dusty’s brother, and I say thank you.
