Robert G. Kovarik, 89, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Friday June 28, 2024, at his home under hospice care. Bob was born July 19, 1934, in Rayland, OH, son of the late Andy and Mary (Polivka) Kovarik. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce A. (Marzeta) Kovarik, who passed August 5, 2006. Bob was a retired chemist, working for the former First Energy Corp. - W.H. Sammis Plant in Stratton, OH. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was protestant by faith, a member of the Piney Fork American Legion Post #735, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Ohio State Buckeye ...

Shirley Amelia Petroski,77, of Weirton, WV, a retired fifth grade teacher in Brooke County Schools passed away on June 27, 2024. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Tkacs Mehall, and her beloved sister, Connie Smith. She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Kristan (David) Webb. Visitation will be Tuesday at the Grace Lutheran Church in Steubenville, OH from 12 noon until the time of her funeral at 2 PM.
