William John Savinell Jr., 61, of Steubenville, went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2026.
He lived a full life of love, laughter, and adventure.
William was employed as a detailer at Lyle's Auto. He enjoyed raising reptiles--including his Colombian red tail boa constrictor, Spartacus--spending summers with his relatives in Italy, shooting pool with his league at the Schutzen Club, and cheering on the Cleveland Browns.
William was also a proud St. Anthony Hawk and a graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Vincenza (Carfora) Savinell; his brother, Joseph Savinell; and his brother-in-law, Michael Gampolo.
He is survived by his sisters, Merica (Larry) Petrella, Carolyn (Craig) McFarland, Vincetta (Nick) Tsouris, Nina (Bob) Hall, and Joann Gampolo; his sister-in-law, Caroline Savinell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to extend their sincere thank you to Dr. Rahman, Dr. Trombetta, and the entire staff at the Tony Teramana Cancer Center, where he was affectionately known as "Uncle Billy."
Calling hours will be held at Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, on Friday, September 11, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 12, at 12 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. His eternal resting place will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
