Robert "Bob" Forester, 84 of Colliers, WV, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at WVU Medicine Continuous Care Center, Wheeling, WV.
Bob was born on August 23, 1942 in Pennsboro, WV. He was the son of the late Clyde Forester and Verga (Jones) Forester.
Bob retired after many years of dedicated service as a truck driver for Weirton Steel Corporation. Following his retirement, Bob wasn't quite ready to slow down and went on to work for the Brooke County School System as a school bus driver, where he enjoyed being a familiar and dependable face to the many students he transported through the years.
Many will remember Bob as a hardworking man who enjoyed keeping busy and could often be found tinkering around the house, fixing something, or finding another project to work on. He especially treasured the time spent camping with his family at Atwood Lake. Those trips brought together many of the things Bob loved most--being outdoors, relaxing at the campground, and, most importantly, spending time surrounded by his family and making memories together.
Bob had a deep and steadfast faith in God that was an important part of his life. He was a devoted member of Mercy Baptist Church, where he faithfully served through the years as both an Elder and Usher. Bob believed in serving his church, caring for his family, and lending a helping hand whenever it was needed. His quiet faith, hardworking nature, and love for those around him will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his five siblings, Kenneth, Donald and Charles Forester, Virginia Larkey and Betty Mayhew.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Loretta (Kimball) Forester, two children, Robert Brian Forester and Tracy Gatten, two grandchildren, Kaleb and Ave Gatten, a sister, Ruby Duval and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing on Friday 3-7PM and again Saturday 10AM till Service 11 AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with his pastor, Marlin Hawley, officiating.
Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV.
