Joseph (JoJo) Bryan Pierro, of Steubenville, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 60. Born June 19, 1966 in Steubenville, Joe was known for being kind and gentle. Joe always had a smile on his face and had a way of making those around him feel comfortable. He will always be remembered for his easy going nature, his generosity, and the many lifelong friendships that he has made. Joe lived a selfless life and was most proud of his two children Michael and Mia.
JoJo was a 1985 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School and West Liberty State College where he received his degree in special education and continued his baseball career. Joe played proudly for Post 33 and later for Twines softball league. He was also a member of the PAC.
Joe's love for sports remained an important part of his life. For nearly thirty years, Joe coached and mentored young athletes in football and baseball for Steubenville City Schools.
Joe loved family gatherings and spending time with his close friends. He especially enjoyed being outdoors and working in the yard. Whether coaching, spending time with those he loved, or simply helping someone in need, JoJo found happiness in the people around him.
Joe is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Pierro, his grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his mother, Shirley Bryan Pierro, his son Michael, and daughter Mia, brother Anthony (Gina) Pierro, and sister Lynda (Tim) Piergallini, as well as aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and many dear friends.
He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Family and friends will be received at Mosti Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 8th between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated in his honor on Wednesday, September 9 at 11 a.m. at Triumph of the Cross Parish. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
