Christopher "Chris" W. Dunlevy, 72, of Weirton, WV, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville. He was born September 22, 1953, in Steubenville, the son of the late Bernard and Irene Wright Dunlevy.
After earning his degree from Jeff Tech in Steubenville, Chris met the love of his life, Kathy Jenkins. The two were married on October 28, 1978, and began a life together filled with family, hard work, and many wonderful memories.
Chris began his career with Weirton Steel Corporation before joining S&D Coffee & Tea in Robinson Township. During his many years with S&D, he served as a Regional Operations Manager before being promoted to National Account Salesman. His position took him thousands of miles across numerous states, but wherever his work took him, Chris remained connected to the communities he served. Through his work with S&D, he was proud to support numerous local high school booster organizations.
Chris was a hard worker throughout his life and believed in giving his time and talents to others. In his younger years, he and all seven of his brothers delivered newspapers for the Herald-Star. He was especially proud when a large feature story was published, including a photograph of him and his brothers, telling the story of how the eldest brother began delivering papers and passed the job down through the family until the youngest brother had his turn. He volunteered with Colliers Volunteer Fire Department. He also enjoyed playing recreational softball and was a member of several teams, including the St. Peter's Catholic Church team in Steubenville.
A faithful member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Chris treasured his faith, his family, and the simple joys of life. Whether he was traveling the highways for work or spending time at home with Kathy and his family, Chris embraced life with dedication, enthusiasm, and a generous spirit. He will be remembered most for his strong work ethic, his devotion to those he loved, and the many lives he touched along the way.
Chris is survived by his loving wife of nearly 48 years, Kathy Jenkins Dunlevy; son, Shawn Dunlevy of Imperial; daughters, Kelly Dunlevy of Hurst, TX, and Kristin Dunlevy of Weirton; beloved granddaughter, Olive Pearl Dunlevy; and brothers, James (Phyllis) of Fairmont, B. John (Patricia) of Flower Mound, TX, Mike (Mary Mike) of Winter Haven, FL, Patrick (late Madaline) of Columbus, Joseph (Kathleen) of Wintersville, David (Vicki) of Columbus, and Kevin (April) of Alaska.
Per Chris's wishes, there will be no visitation at this time. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Weirton. Online condolences may be offered to Chris's family at www.steelandwolfe.com.
