Charles "Bud" Leroy Kirkpatrick, 76, of Follansbee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Brightwood Center in Follansbee.
Born December 15, 1949, in New Martinsville, WV, Bud was the son of the late Leroy and Hazel Lemasters Kirkpatrick.
Bud was a hardworking man who took pride in a life well lived and in providing for those he loved. He retired from Follansbee Steel after many years of dedicated work. In his spare time, Bud enjoyed the simple things that brought him happiness. He loved trying his luck with scratch-off tickets, watching WWF and WWE wrestling, and spending time tinkering with cars. Those who knew him will remember his easy-going spirit, his determination, and the unique personality that made him one of a kind.
Above all, Bud cherished his family. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Jean Cheuvront Kirkpatrick, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories and love; his daughter, Mary Denham (Rob); his brother, Edward Aaron Kirkpatrick; sisters, Sandy Anderson (Don) and Charlene Rice; sisters-in-law, Shirley Cheuvront, Cathy Reed (Jim) and Brenda Hull (Fred); and brother-in-law, Herb Cheuvront; and his many nieces and nephews, who will carry his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Gary Kirkpatrick, Dexter Melott, and Mary Kirkpatrick Fulmer; sister-in-law, Geraldine Cheuvront; and brother-in-law, Wallace Cheuvront (Teresa).
Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2026. The family will celebrate Bud's life at 4 p.m., with Pastor Tim Colvin officiating.
