Roberta Jean (Kerr) Rosnick, 87, of Fairmont, West Virginia, formerly of Weirton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
Born on April 4, 1939, Roberta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, nurse, and woman of Christian faith whose life was defined by kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family. She shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Paul Rosnick, until his passing on January 25, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Emma Jean Defant Kerr.
She is survived by her loving children, Paula Erhard (Craig) of Fairmont, West Virginia; Robert Rosnick (Chris) of Weirton, West Virginia; and John Rosnick (Holly) of Aldie, Virginia. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Fante; her cherished grand- children, Stephanie, Lauren, Ryan, Dylan, Grayson, Mallory, Gavin; and great- grandchild, Frankie.
In her early years, Roberta attended Catholic Central High School in Steubenville before graduating from Steubenville High School, Big Red.
While raising three children, Roberta worked tirelessly to earn her Registered Nurse degree from West Virginia Northern Community College, an accomplishment of which she was especially proud.
Following graduation, Roberta dedicated 27 years to caring for others as a head nurse at Serra Manor. She found great fulfillment in serving her elderly patients and took tremendous pride in providing compassionate, dignified care for those entrusted to her.
A faithful member of Memorial Baptist Church, Roberta faithfully served as a deaconess and lived out her Christian faith through service to others. She was also a member of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Club.
Family was always the center of Roberta's life. She especially treasured being a grandmother and delighted in spending time with her grandchildren. During retirement, she and Paul enjoyed spending their winters together in Florida, creating many happy memories.
For the last 11 years of her life, Roberta made her home with her daughter, Paula, and her family, who lovingly cared for her and supported her daily with compassion and devotion. Their selfless care allowed Roberta to remain surrounded by her family.
Roberta will be remembered for her strong work ethic, gentle spirit, and generous heart. Her kindness, selflessness, and unconditional love touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, faith, and family that will continue to inspire those who loved her.
Family and friends will be received at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, on Saturday July 25, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Rev. Larry Barkley will preside.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
