Kathy Jo Burns, 69 , of Weirton, WV; formerly of Burgettstown and Avella, PA passed away on Wednesday morning July 15, 2026 in the WVU Weirton Medical Center.
She was born on January 17, 1957 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late Russell and Eva Lee Davis Ford.
Kathy enjoyed gardening and cooking with her husband. She was a 1975 graduate of Burgettstown High School.
She is survived by her two sisters Diana Myers and Ruth Brown; step children Jodi Lynn Burns, James Burns, Jr. and Jessica Burns; and was especially close with her grandchildren Jina and Janson.
Deceased in addition to her parents are her husband James D. "Diz" Burns, Sr. who passed away on December 21, 2015, and a brother David Ford.
She will be laid to rest with her husband at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15237 on Monday July 27, 2026 at 2 p.m. Those planning on attending are asked to meet at the National Cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
