PATRICIA KUPROWICZ

Patricia A. Kuprowicz (Schoolcraft), 80, a resident of New Manchester, WV passed away on Wednesday June 24, 2026 after a sudden illness.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Schoolcraft, mother, Geraldine Schoolcraft (Protzman), and brother, Jay Schoolcraft. Surviving are her husband, Daniel Kuprowicz, son, Nicholas Kuprowicz, daughter- in-law, Vicki Kuprowicz (VonGunten), grandson, Colin Kuprowicz, and granddaughter, Claire Kuprowicz.

Patricia was a lifelong resident of the greater Weirton WV community. She attended Weir High School and graduated in 1963. She was a member of the famous Weir High School Varsity Band and traveled domestically and internationally to participate in the band’s many award-winning performances. After high school she attended Steubenville Business College and started her professional career at Weirton Steel Corporation.

She married Daniel Kuprowicz in 1968 and their marriage flourished continuously for 58 years. They moved from the city of Weirton to the country setting of New Manchester in the early 1970s. Over the next 50 years, Patricia’s life was defined by her extraordinary care for others. She nurtured multiple generations of her family, volunteered her time in community organizations (such as scouts and parent-teacher associations), and worked professionally in the health care industry as a nursing aid.

In addition to an extremely caring heart, Patricia also had an exceptionally sharp mind. Throughout her life she maintained her musical talents, read books voraciously, solved tens of thousands of crossword puzzles, and taught others how to think critically and objectively. Patricia impacted many lives by combining her problem-solving abilities and her compassion for others in the role of a trusted advisor. She thrived in helping others navigate through extraordinary difficult life challenges. Patricia’s strength and resilience carry her family now as they move forward with extreme gratitude for the life she lived.

Pursuant to Patricia’s wishes there will be no funeral service. A private family burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Those seeking to provide flowers or monetary donations may directly support a local children’s hospital.
