John Smurda
John T. Smurda, 78, passed away at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital on Friday, June 12, 2026 with his family at his side. He was born in Steubenville on July 12, 1947 the son of John & Nellie Exterovich Smurda.
John began his career in automobile sales at local dealerships before becoming a partner at J&J Dealership in Toronto, Ohio, where he worked until his retirement.
Preceding John in death were his parents and two sisters, Joan Phillipi & Eleanor Thomas.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Suzanne Chichick Smurda; cherished son Ryan John Smurda; niece Janice (Jeff) Felton; sister-in-law Mitzi (late Bill) Seach; several nieces and nephews.
Private services at St. Peter Church with Rev. Timothy Huffman officiating.
Burial at Union Cemetery.
